Antonio Conte has revealed that Chelsea forward Pedro suffered multiple fractures during his collision with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina in Saturday's friendly match.
The 29-year-old was sent back to England over the weekend to recuperate after being left concussed on the field when wiped out by Ospina at the Bird's Nest Stadium.
Conte admits that the damage was "more serious" than initially expected, but he expects Pedro - a key player in last term's Premier League title success - to be back in action within the next fortnight with the use of a facial mask.
"Pedro's injury was more serious than he thought," he told reporters. "He has multiple fractures but with a mask he should train within 10 days."
Pedro will miss Chelsea's friendlies against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, but is on course to feature in the Community Shield meeting with Arsenal on August 6.
