Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has said that the club must be "patient" regarding Cesc Fabregas's recovery from a muscular problem.
Conte was more optimistic over Branislav Ivanovic's return from injury but he has suggested that Fabregas - who has not featured for the Blues since September 24 - still requires some time in the treatment room.
The 47-year-old told reporters: "With Ivanovic it is better as he has started to train with us, but as is normal after an injury he needs a little time to find the right shape to come back with our squad," he said.
"With Cesc [Fabregas] he is still not well. We must be patient because the muscular problem is still tight but I hope to see him very soon with the team in training."
While the pair have been ruled out of the EFL Cup clash with West Ham United, Conte has said that John Terry could make his first appearance since suffering an ankle injury last month.
