Chelsea playmaker Marko Marin has declared that he wants to use the League Cup as a chance to make the starting XI and prove his worth at Stamford Bridge.
Marin joined the Blues last summer but his debut season in West London has been blighted by a series of injury problems.
The German midfielder believes that if called upon he can seize the chance to play against Swansea City tonight, having featured in two earlier rounds of the competition.
He told the club's official website: "After my start with the injuries I came back and was again injured but now I feel better, nearly 100% fit, and we can see it with the playing time.
"I've started to play and now I'm involved I hope it will continue. The important thing is minutes. I can only get fit with minutes in the games. Training does so much but matches are the best thing.
"The Capital One Cup is an important title. Every player in England has an aim to play in Wembley, because it means you have done well, and this is a big chance for us. We are in the semi-final and we want to win."
Rafael Benitez's side host Swansea in the semi-final first leg tonight, before travelling to the Liberty Stadium for the tie's conclusion in a fortnight.
