England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed that defender Gary Cahill will not be fit for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Montenegro.
The Chelsea centre-back was initially only ruled out of tomorrow's encounter with San Marino in the hope of returning to the squad next week.
Despite the possibility of a return, Hodgson has claimed that Cahill, who was replaced by Newcastle United's Steven Taylor, will play no part in next week's match.
Meanwhile, the former West Bromwich Albion boss has admitted that he is "disappointed" by Rio Ferdinand's decision to snub his call-up to the squad.
