Liverpool and Chelsea players were reportedly involved in an off-field altercation following Tuesday night's 1-1 draw in the League Cup semi-final at Anfield.
Diego Costa and Jordan Henderson are said to have continued an on-field argument as they headed down the tunnel, although no punches were thrown, according to The Mirror.
The issue stemmed from a confrontation on the pitch towards the end of the game when Cesc Fabregas stopped Henderson from taking a quick free kick as the Reds searched for a late winner.
Both Costa and Liverpool vice-captain Henderson are said to have shoved each other before they were broken apart by members of the coaching staff.
The second leg at Stamford Bridge is next week.
