Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has praised Chelsea duo John Terry and Frank Lampard.
The 41-year-old worked with the two players while he was a coach at the London club.
"I have a decent idea what technique looks like: from John Terry at Chelsea, a centre-half, and tactically brilliant, to Frank Lampard," the Sunday People quotes him as saying.
"Frank has wonderful qualities and then here at Liverpool, Steven Gerrard is the best player I've worked with for tempo and technique."
Rodgers also believes that British footballers are just as technically good as their European counterparts.
"My life's work has been trying to show that British players can play," he said.
"I grew up being told that British players were not as good technically as European players, which was the biggest load of tosh I'd ever heard.
"British players are just as good technically and tactically as their European counterparts."
Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League with 53 points from 26 matches.
