Graeme Souness has said that changing a club's manager is not the answer to poor form.
The former Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers manager was speaking following the sacking of Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo.
The former Scotland international told Sky Sports News: "Making changes doesn't work. It was four years before [Alex Ferguson] won anything, seven years before he won the league.
"People are making the decisions at Chelsea not really understanding how football works.
"I don't think anyone could come in and do the job differently."
Rafael Benitez is understood to be flying into London to hold talks with Chelsea about taking charge of the team.
