How Chelsea could line up against West Ham United

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for Wednesday's Premier League London derby against West Ham United.

Chelsea will be looking to make it six wins in a row across all competitions and four from four since returning after lockdown when they travel across London to face West Ham United on Wednesday evening.

Frank Lampard's side have ensured that they remain in pole position to claim the final top-four spot while also booking their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup during a winning return from the three-and-a-half-month stoppage so far.

The Blues will be favourites to continue that run against a West Ham side in poor form and with only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone after 31 games of the season.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up for the contest.

Out: Marco van Ginkel (knee)
Doubtful: Fikayo Tomori (muscle), Christian Pulisic (calf), Andreas Christensen (hip), Callum Hudson-Odoi (ankle)

Chelsea could be without Christian Pulisic for this match after the American winger limped out of the FA Cup victory over Leicester with a tight calf.

The injury is not thought to be serious, but Lampard is unlikely to take any risks over his fitness, particularly given the quick turnaround in games and the fact that it is a muscle problem.

With Callum Hudson-Odoi also doubtful with an ankle injury, that could open the door for Ruben Loftus-Cheek to make another start, although Roma-bound Pedro is another option for the front three.

Lampard made no secret of his unhappiness with Chelsea's performance in the first half of the win over Leicester and the three players hooked at half time in that match - Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour and Reece James - could be left out of the starting XI this time around.

Ross Barkley, who came off the bench to score the only goal of the game at the King Power Stadium, will be hoping to have earned a starting spot, while the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Olivier Giroud, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso and Kepa Arrizabalaga will also expect to come back into the side.

N'Golo Kante has operated in the holding midfield role to good effect since the restart and should start there again for this match, meaning that Jorginho may have to settle for a place on the bench once more.
