Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Timo Werner, and a deal could potentially take place between the clubs as early as this January.
The German outfit are currently in the market to provide cover for their talisman Robert Lewandowski, who has scored eight goals in his first five appearances this season, and the Premier League star is currently top of the list.
Despite only signing for the London club last summer, Werner's time with the Blues could be coming to an end in the January transfer market as Munich prepare to make a bid.
According to Football Insider, a deal between the two European elite clubs could take place in the winter, with the German international possibly reuniting with his former RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann, who is now in charge of Munich.
Werner has only featured as a substitute in the three Premier League games since Romelu Lukaku returned to the Blues from Inter Milan, and is yet to open his account for the season.
It has previously been reported that Werner is remaining open-minded about his future as a player, with Thomas Tuchel also said to be interested in possibly signing Bayern's Leroy Sane.
The striker signed for Chelsea for £45m last year and managed to score 12 goals while making 15 assists in a season that saw him lift the Champions League. body check tags ::
