Chelsea have made West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice their number one midfield transfer target, according to a report.
The Blues are yet to dip into the market this summer, but are keen on bolstering their options in the middle of the park as they look to improve on last season's fourth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Rice was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge when Frank Lampard was at the helm, but interest appeared to cool when Thomas Tuchel took over in January.
However, The Mirror now reports that the Champions League winners are ready to revive their interest in a deal once more.
The midfielder has started all five of England's games at Euro 2020 so far, after making 35 appearances for West Ham last season, scoring twice.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said on Twitch: "At the moment, Chelsea's priority in midfield is Declan Rice.
"If they will sign a midfielder, Declan Rice will be one of the biggest possibilities.
"Then, they have to find an agreement with West Ham, and it won't be easy because West Ham are asking for a lot of money for him."
Rice was previously in Chelsea's academy but was released at the age of 14, when he made the switch to the Hammers. To date, he has made 145 appearances for the East London outfit. body check tags ::
