Chelsea quartet 'in line for new contracts at club'

Chelsea want to tie N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to new contracts, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly keen to tie N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to new contracts this summer.

Recent comments from Jorginho's agent have again cast doubt on the midfielder's future at Stamford Bridge, and the 29-year-old's current deal is due to expire in June 2023.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues want to sign the Italy international to a new deal, while they are also keen to agree fresh terms with Kante, who also has less than two years left to run on his contract.

Romano claims that Christensen and Rudiger - both out of contract next summer - will also be given the opportunity to pen fresh deals.

Rudiger struggled for action under Frank Lampard in the first half of last season but was a key player for Thomas Tuchel in the second half of the campaign.

Christensen, meanwhile, was also a regular under Tuchel in the second half of 2020-21, and the 25-year-old impressed for Denmark at this summer's European Championship. body check tags ::
