Chelsea reportedly intend to wait until the end of the campaign before making a decision on Aston Villa loanee Ross Barkley's future.
The England international has been in superb form during his season on loan at Villa Park, scoring and assisting a combined four goals in 10 appearances.
Barkley still has another two-and-a-half years to run on his Chelsea contract and, according to Birmingham Live, he may end up back at Stamford Bridge next season.
It is claimed that no talks have been held between the Blues and Villa over a permanent arrangement for the 27-year-old, and that is unlikely to change before the summer.
Barkley scored the winner for Villa in their 1-0 win over Southampton at the weekend, earning the midfielder strong praise from boss Dean Smith.
