Chelsea are 'almost certain' to cancel Gonzalo Higuain's loan contract at the end of the season, according to a report.
The Blues snapped up the 31-year-old from Juventus in January after allowing Alvaro Morata to return to Spain with Atletico Madrid.
Higuain has not had the impact Maurizio Sarri expected, though, managing just three goals in 13 matches and none in his last five.
Sarri has overlooked the ex-Argentina international for selection, leaving him out for both legs of the Europa League quarter-final with Slavia Prague and bringing him off the bench against Liverpool.
Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Higuain's time in West London may be short lived as Chelsea plan to send him back to his parent club in the summer.
The former AC Milan striker has previously expressed his desire to stay on at Chelsea.
