Robert Lewandowski insists that he is fully focused on the current season with Bayern Munich, amid speculation of a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The 33-year-old has been the most prolific goalscorer across Europe in 2021, netting an exceptional 69 goals in just 59 appearances for Bayern and Poland this calendar year, 18 more than his nearest challenger Kylian Mbappe.
Lewandowski is currently enjoying his eighth season as a Bayern player, however, there have been suggestions that the striker is seeking a fresh challenge in the latter stages of his career, which is believed to have alerted the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The Poland international, who has just 18 months remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena, insists that he is happy at Bayern but has revealed that he is not thinking about an extension to his deal just yet and that a new challenge elsewhere cannot be ruled out.
"I'm not thinking about that [contract at Bayern]," Lewandowski is quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
"I'm happy with how things are at the moment and focused on the current season. I'm used to rumours every year so that doesn't bother me. I haven't read the press for a long time.
"I'm always ready for the challenge. I don't know if it'd be new, but I'm always ready."
Lewandowski worked with Guardiola for two seasons at Bayern between 2014 and 2016, scoring 67 goals and providing 19 assists in 100 appearances across all competitions. body check tags ::
