Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri reportedly wants to reunite with AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri is keen to strengthen in attack and has previously worked with the Argentina international during his time at Napoli.
The Blues are believed to have targeted Higuain upon Sarri's arrival in the summer, only for negotiations to stall and the player instead swapped Juventus for Milan on an initial loan deal with the option to buy.
According to the Daily Mail, however, the 31-year-old is frustrated at San Siro and wants out, while Milan are wrestling with Financial Fair Play restrictions, meaning that Chelsea could pounce.
Higuain scored eight goals in his first 11 games for the Rossoneri but has since failed to net in any of his last seven matches.
