AC Milan have reportedly informed Chelsea that they will have to pay £50m to sign centre-back Alessio Romagnoli.
The 21-year-old was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, but it is understood that the Premier League club failed in a £34m move.
Despite re-signing David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea are still said to be in the market for a new central defender and according to The Sun, they have been quoted £50m for Italian international Romagnoli.
Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva and Juventus's Leonardo Bonucci have also been linked with the London club as Antonio Conte prepares to overhaul his defence.
