Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua have confirmed they are planning to unite new signing Nicolas Anelka with his Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba.
Shenhua recently agreed a deal to take Anelka to China in the New Year after the Frenchman was transfer listed by request at Stamford Bridge.
Further additions are imminent at the ambitious club, who have highlighted Anelka's strike partner Drogba as an ideal signing.
The Ivorian's Chelsea future is in doubt amid rumours that manager Andre Villas-Boas is looking to trim his ageing squad.
"Drogba is an excellent player. We got in touch with him two weeks ago," said Shenhua director Zhou Jun.
"From our club's perspective, we have this to say - if he is willing to come, we will definitely welcome him."
Drogba has been a regular in recent weeks for the Blues, scoring four times in as many games for the London club.
