Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has said that he is not concerned with his omission from Spain's squad for their 2014 World Cup qualifier against France last week.
The 24-year-old adds that he is happy with his performance for the Blues against Tottenham Hotspur in a 4-2 away victory in the Premier League on Saturday.
"I don't know [whether anyone was watching from Spain]," he is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail. "I just try to improve with every Chelsea game I play.
"I just wanted to do my best for my team and in this moment I am feeling really well. I had another chance for a goal but Fernando [Torres] was in a better position than me to score.
"But the most important thing for me was victory. Before the game we wanted to stay top of the league and we are still there."
Chelsea are currently at the top of the league table with 22 points from eight matches.
