Cheltenham Town have confirmed that they have terminated the contract of defender Paul Black.
The 25-year-old joined the club on a one-year deal in the summer following a brief spell with Mansfield Town. Black made five appearances in all competitions for the Robins.
"I don't believe in just sitting on your contract and collecting your money," he told the club's official website. "I know the budget is tight at Cheltenham and there was no point in me sitting there if I am not playing, that's not me."
Black is expected to move to the MLS for the next phase of his career.
