Former Stoke City and Southampton defender Danny Higginbotham has praised the 'professional' attitude within Gibraltar's fledgling national team setup.
The 34-year-old, who currently plays for Conference club Chester City, is part of the Gibraltar squad that is preparing to make its international debut against Slovakia this evening.
"I didn't really think by the time I turned 34 this would happen so it was a pleasant surprise and something which I couldn't turn down the opportunity," Higginbotham told reporters.
"I have come over here and the professionalism and the way they are trying to do everything is pretty special.
"You can see they are trying to do things the right way and leaving no stone unturned and it is great and a privilege for me to be involved in it."
Barnsley full-back Scott Wiseman is also expected to feature for Gibraltar, who were admitted into UEFA as the 54th member nation in May.
