A late strike from Jhon Cordoba rescued a point for Colombia in their opening match of the Under-20 World Cup against Australia this evening.
It was Australia who started the match the stronger with Josh Brillante causing problems with his pace and power, but neither side were able to break the deadlock in the first period.
That changed in the early stages of the second half when Daniel de Silva pounced on a loose ball inside the box to send Australia into the lead.
Both teams had chances in the second period, but it was Colombia who managed to secure a share of the spoils with Cordoba finding the net after 78 minutes.
