Coventry City boss Steven Pressley has praised Callum Wilson after the striker netted twice in Sunday's 2-0 win over Colchester United.
The 21-year-old, who has been described as "sensational" by his boss, has now scored eight times in the Football League this season.
Pressley told the club's official website: "His form has been sensational and it is simply down to hard work from him. He has a better understanding of his strengths and his weaknesses now which is very important as we see him play to his strengths now.
"He is making us all incredibly proud at the moment. I am disappointed for him as he missed out on Player of the Month but he responded really well against Colchester, exactly the right attitude.
"He has come a long way in a very short period of time. I remember, during a pre-season match against TSV Wachtendonk, I brought him on in second half. If I had his contract there and then, I would have shredded it. I wanted to bring him off after 10 minutes. But now, he is playing so well."
Coventry face Gillingham in League One this weekend.
