Sheffield Wednesday have headed into half time level with Derby County following a goalless first half in their Championship match at Hillsborough.
Both sides showed plenty of attacking intent inside the opening 10 minutes, with Andreas Weimann trying to get forward for Derby, before Liam Palmer tried to pick out Lucas Joao with a cross for the hosts, but neither managed to force an early goal.
The first shot of the game came almost 20 minutes in when Ross Wallace thumped the ball on the volley from 25 yards out for the Owls, but a solid save from Lee Grant denied the midfielder.
The home side got forward again midway through the first half as chances continued to be scarce, but Barry Bannan's effort failed to trouble the keeper.
Joao tried to make a run for the home side as half time approached, but he lost out on the edge of the box, allowing Derby to press back down the other end, but Chris Martin's header was wide.
Wednesday continued to see more of the ball in the final minutes of the period, but Kieran Lee was twice unable to pick out a teammate after making a run into the box for the hosts.
