Derby County have reportedly sounded out Nigel Pearson about becoming their new manager.
The 52-year-old has been heavily linked with the post at the iPro Stadium ever since Paul Clement was sacked on Monday evening.
However, while initial contact has been made, the Rams do not plan to appoint Pearson until the summer, according to Sky Sports News.
The report adds that Derby's current intention is to let interim boss Darren Wassall guide the team through the remainder of the Championship season.
Pearson has been out of work since he parted company with Leicester City last summer.
