Derby County manager Steve McClaren has claimed that inexperience cost his side during their dramatic defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The Rams saw their promotion bid suffer a setback on Saturday as Ben Osborn's injury-time strike earned Forest a 2-1 victory at the iPro Stadium.
McClaren believes that Derby paid the price for trying to score a late winner, allowing the visitors to break up the other end of the pitch to seal the points.
"We didn't deserve to lose," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I think a draw would have been about right. Everybody would have gone away satisfied with a draw. When they equalised, I would have taken the draw.
"But we showed our inexperience at the end, thinking that with 30 seconds left we should go and try to win it. We lost all shape and got punished. The first half we played like us, the second half was not us."
The result has seen Derby slip down to third place in the Championship table, two points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
