Steve McClaren has turned down a move to Newcastle United and will stay at Derby County, according to reports.
The Rams manager has been heavily linked with replacing John Carver at St James' Park in recent months, and was reportedly approached last weekend to take over for the final three games of the season.
However, The Derby Telegraph reports that McClaren has told the Derby board that he wants to stay, and intends to discuss transfer targets with them this week.
Derby faded badly in the last few months of the Championship season, and missed out on a playoff spot on the final day of the campaign.
McClaren has been in charge since 2013.
