Doncaster Rovers will attempt to keep star striker Billy Sharp at the club despite interest from Leicester City.
The club reluctantly accepted a bid from the Foxes for Sharp's services over the weekend, but are planning to offer him a new deal to try to persuade him to stay at the Keepmoat Stadium.
It is understood that Doncaster major shareholder Dick Watson has put up the money to offer Sharp a lucrative new contract in an effort to hold on to the 25-year-old.
Sharp has scored ten goals in the Championship for Donny this season.
