Steven Gerrard has revealed that he intends to carry on as captain of England.
The Liverpool midfielder was handed the role on a permanent basis by manager Roy Hodgson in May.
Despite failing to help the Three Lions get beyond the quarter-final stage of Euro 2012, Gerrard has insisted that Hodgson is keen for him to continue as skipper.
"I've loved every minute of the captaincy," he told reporters. "I've had a brief chat with the manager. He wants me to carry on and I'm available."
Gerrard laid on three goals for his teammates during the tournament.
