Phil Neville believes that there is plenty to be excited about as England prepare for this summer's European Championships.
New boss Roy Hodgson announced his 23-man squad for the tournament last week, which provoked a mixed reaction from pundits and the media.
However, Everton captain Neville is adamant that there are plenty of positives in Hodgson's selection.
"There's a new era coming in now and I'm very positive and very excited," Neville told BBC Sport. "The appointment of Roy Hodgson is very clever and a very positive one.
"I think there's more of a feel good factor going into the tournament than there would have been if Fabio Capello was still involved.
"I am excited about the young players that are travelling."
Neville made 57 appearances for the Three Lions during an 11-year international career.
