Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross has insisted that he is determined to remain in the England squad.
The 25-year-old was included in manager Roy Hodgson's Three Lions setup for the nation's 2014 World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland.
"If I'm doing okay and being consistent, then I always felt that I had enough to hopefully break into the England squad and luckily enough I have done, so I want to stay in it," BBC Sport quotes Shawcross as saying.
"There's a lot of experienced players ahead of me and it's up to me to perform well in training. Hopefully I can play well when I get a chance."
The centre-back has joined up with the England squad for this week's friendly against Sweden.
