England Under-21 captain Jordan Henderson has insisted that his side will need to improve in their next match at the European Championships after losing their opener on Wednesday.
The Three Lions endured a 1-0 defeat to Italy in their first Group A encounter, after a late Lorenzo Insigne free kick proved enough to decide the clash.
Despite their poor performance, the Liverpool man feels that the outcome of the game may have been different had Craig Dawson's earlier goal not been disallowed.
"It was a disappointing game in the end and I thought we could have played a lot better," Henderson told Sky Sports News.
"First 20 minutes we tried to press them but it wasn't really working and it might have been a different game if our goal was allowed."
England face Norway in their second match on Saturday.
