England will meet the USA, Iran and the winner of the final European playoff in Group B at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Gareth Southgate's side are set to open their finals campaign on the opening day of the tournament after being placed in spot B1, with the Stars and Stripes taking spot B3 ahead of their battle on November 25.
The two nations have met at the World Cup twice before, with the USA winning 1-0 in Group 2 during the 1950 edition before Rob Green's memorable error in a 1-1 stalemate in 2010.
Iran were originally drawn in Group A but could not be placed in the same section as Qatar, and with the world's 21st-ranked side being placed in B2, England's maiden 2022 World Cup finals game will take place against Dragan Skocic's men on November 21.
Only 29 of the 32 teams competing in Qatar have been decided, and England could find themselves meeting a fellow British nation, with Wales set to take on either Ukraine or Scotland in their playoff final later this summer before the victors meet Southgate's men in Qatar on November 29.
Meanwhile, hosts Qatar have been handed a baptism of fire against the Netherlands, Ecuador and Senegal in Group A, while Spain and Germany have been paired against one another in a heavyweight clash in Group E alongside Japan and either Costa Rica or New Zealand.
Defending champions France, meanwhile, have been placed in Group D, with Denmark, Tunisia and one of Peru, Australia or the United Arab Emirates joining them following the intercontinental playoffs.
Should England make it through to the knockout rounds, one of Qatar, Senegal, the Netherlands and Ecuador will be awaiting Southgate's men in the last 16 in the first week of December.
