England manager Roy Hodgson admits that he will be realising the dream of every national team boss when he leads the Three Lions at the 2014 World Cup of Brazil.

Roy Hodgson has admitted that he will be realising the dream of every national coach when he takes England to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Goals from Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard earned the Three Lions a 2-0 victory over Poland at Wembley, which secures them progress to next summer's tournament as Group H winners.

"It's great. It's been our goal and I suppose you could even say it is a dream for every national team and every national team coach to lead his team out in a World Cup in Brazil," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.

"I think that over the 10 matches we have deserved it. We have had to dig in once or twice, it's not been an easy group, but I think these last four matches have really shown some good sides to our play.

"These two games were enormous pressure for the players. I think they have done ever so well to come out and withstand that pressure."

Hodgson managed England to a quarter-final finish at the 2012 European Championships, but this is the first time that he has guided the national team through qualification for a major tournament.
