Everton's most valuable players

Sports Mole takes a look at the most valuable players in the Everton squad.

Everton have struggled for consistency during the 2019-20 campaign, picking up 37 points from 29 matches to occupy 12th spot in the table before football was called to a halt.

There have been plenty of positive signs since Carlo Ancelotti's arrival as head coach, though, and the Toffees will certainly be one of the teams to watch next season.

It would not be surprise to see the Merseyside giants invest heavily during this summer's transfer window, but the club do already have a number of talented individuals in their ranks.

Here Sports Mole takes a look at the club's most valuable players.

Richarlison's spot at the top of this list does not come as a surprise. Indeed, the 22-year-old has enjoyed another impressive season for Everton, scoring 12 times in 32 appearances, including 10 in the Premier League. He is on a contract until the summer of 2024, meanwhile, meaning that the Toffees are in a strong position when it comes to the Brazilian's future.

The fact that Lucas Digne is second is a touch surprising; the 26-year-old has been impressive offensively since arriving from Barcelona but has struggled defensively for spells of the season.

Jordan Pickford's placing of third is also debatable as the goalkeeper has been far from his best during the current campaign. The fact that Pickford (£31.5m) is ahead of Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£27m) when the latter has scored 13 Premier League goals this season is certainly open for discussion.

Andre Gomes is behind both Alex Iwobi and Gylfi Sigurdsson in the rankings, while Mason Holgate is below the likes of Michael Keane and Yerry Mina despite becoming an important player for Ancelotti.

Towards the other end of the list, Maarten Stekelenburg, who is out of contract this summer, is bottom with a valuation of £630,000. Beni Baningime and Cuco Martina are the two lowest-ranked outfield players, while Leighton Baines, at 35, is also down the selection.

Oumar Niasse's presence towards the bottom is also not a surprise due to the 29-year-old's struggles this season, but Seamus Coleman (£10.8m) and Morgan Schneiderlin (£10.8m) are also low.

Moise Kean has also retained a solid value of £25.2m despite only managing one goal in 26 appearances for the Merseyside giants since arriving from Juventus last summer.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin has only made two Premier League appearances for Everton this season due to injury, but he cost £25m last summer and therefore it is not a surprise that he is fairly high with £25.2m. Ancelotti will certainly be hoping that the 24-year-old can be a big player for the club next season.
