Everton manager Roberto Martinez has declared that he is not surprised by his team's unbeaten start to the season.
Two free kicks from Leighton Baines and a debut goal for substitute Romelu Lukaku saw the Blues defeat West Ham United 3-2 in their latest outing.
"It doesn't surprise me because you get rewards when you work really hard," Martinez told reporters.
The Spaniard singled out Lukaku for praise following the win at Upton Park, describing the Belgian as a "very intelligent footballer".
He added: "He is a very intelligent footballer and I want him to carry on enjoying his football and going from strength to strength."
The result leaves Everton in fourth place in the Premier League table, one point behind leaders Liverpool.
