Everton are reportedly poised to announce the signing of Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun in a £25m deal.
The 26-year-old has been of previous interest to Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, but reports yesterday suggested that the Toffees had also entered the race as they gear up for the second half of the campaign.
According to The Sun, however, a potential deal to bring the Turkey international to Goodison Park is much further down the line and on the verge of being formalised.
The newspaper claims that the Premier League outfit have agreed a fee of £25m with Besiktas, while the player himself completed a medical at the Finch Farm training ground yesterday.
The move would make Tosun the first signing of new Everton manager Sam Allardyce and would finally represent a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who left the club for Manchester United over the summer.
Tosun has hit 41 goals in 96 Super Lig appearances for Besiktas since 2014.
