FC Twente gained ground on Eredivisie's European places with a 2-0 victory over Heracles this evening.
The hosts dominated proceedings in Enschede but had to wait until the 62nd minute for Jesus Corona to put them ahead.
A first league goal for 17-year-old striker Bilal Ould-Chikh sealed them the points with two minutes remaining.
Twente, who had won only one of their previous five games, had 62% possession and nine attempts on goal during a first half of one-way traffic.
Heracles were showing much better defensive qualities than they had in suffering successive 3-0 league defeats, but were broken down just past the hour mark as Corona made a run from deep to score his fourth of the season.
More Twente pressure followed and highly-rated prospect Ould-Chikh, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, opened his Eredivisie account by converting Kamohelo Mokotjo's cross for an 88th-minute second.
The result sends Twente above AZ into fifth, while Heracles remain 15th and are winless in four matches.
