A single goal from Egemen Korkmaz saw Fenerbahce continue their fine start to the Europa League group stage with a 1-0 win over AEL Limassol in Cyprus tonight.
The Turkish giants now top Pool C with seven points having won two and drawn one of their opening three fixtures.
Baroni Cristian registered Fernerbahce's first attempt on target, but Limassol keeper Matias Degra was on hand to save.
Former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt also came close for the visitors when his effort across goal went narrowly wide of the post.
The home side created several chances of their own in their first match since appointing Jorge Costa as their new manager.
Fenerbahce stopper Volkan Demirel denied both Jorge Felipe Monteiro and Melo Rui Miguel in the latter stages of the opening period.
There were fewer clear-cut chances in the second period, but when one came around, Korkmaz was able to head Cristian's cross past Degra and into the bottom corner.
