Fenerbahce have earned a narrow 1-0 win at home to Benfica in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals.
The hosts came close to taking the lead midway through the first half, but Moussa Sow's header from Dirk Kuyt's cross came back off the crossbar.
Fenerbahce then squandered a glorious opportunity at the end of the half as Cristian Baroni hit the post with a penalty following a foul on Gokhan Gonul.
Benfica were an improved side in the second half, but the Turks made the breakthrough on 71 minutes when Egemen Korkmaz's header crept over the line from a corner.
