Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has claimed that his side should have beaten Empoli in their Serie A match this afternoon.
The Viola had led through Juan Vargas's goal, but Lorenzo Tonelli headed in a second-half equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw for the visitors.
"It was certainly an important opportunity and we should've won, but Empoli fought hard to the end and we even risked defeat on the counter," Montella told Sky Sport Italia.
"The lads gave their all and it was a very entertaining derby. It's a shame about the result, but it's fair enough."
Fiorentina are currently eighth in the Serie A table.
