France continue their FIFA World Cup title defence on Saturday when they go head to head with Denmark in the second round of Group D fixtures at Stadium 974.
Despite being on the front foot for most of the game, Kasper Hjulmand's men were denied a dream start to the campaign as they were held to a goalless draw by Tunisia in last Tuesday's group opener.
France survived an opening-day scare six hours later as they fought back from one goal down to claim a 4-1 victory over Australia courtesy of goals from Adrien Rabiot, Kylian Mbappe and a brace from veteran striker Olivier Giroud.
While Didier Deschamps's side will be looking to make it two wins from two for the first time since March and seal a place in the knockout stages, standing in their way is a Denmark side who are unbeaten in their last three encounters.
After a goalless draw in Group C of the World Cup four years ago, France and Denmark renewed hostilities in Group A1 of the Nations League earlier this year, where the Danes picked up a 2-1 victory on June 3 before seeing off Les Bleus 2-0 in the return fixture three months later.
However, the world champions still boast a superior record in the history of this fixture, having picked up two draws and eight wins in the previous 16 meetings between the sides, including a 3-0 victory in their first-ever encounter back in November 1973.
France's most recent competitive victory against the Red and Whites came in Group C of the 1998 World Cup, when Youri Djorkaeff and Emmanuel Petit scored either side of Michael Laudrup's 42nd-minute equaliser to hand Les Bleus all three points.
