Bacary Sagna has claimed that anything less than lifting the World Cup would be a failure for France.
Despite not being considered as one of the favourites prior to the tournament, France impressed on their way to finishing top of Group E, and Sagna believes that the pressure is on as they prepare to face Nigeria in the last 16 on Monday.
"As players, we aspire to go as far as possible, to win trophies," the defender told reporters.
"It would be a failure not to win the trophy. Initially, we wanted to qualify from the group. Now, we want to go step by step."
France will meet either Germany or Algeria in the quarter-finals if they beat Nigeria.
