Freiburg's search for their first win in the Bundesliga this season continues as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hertha Berlin at home.
Christian Streich's side made a positive start to the clash despite their poor recent form and were ahead inside six minutes through Admir Mehmedi, who rounded Thomas Kraft before tapping home.
Gelson Fernandes then had a strike deflected just past the post for the hosts, with the Swiss midfielder soon involved again after requiring stitches to a nasty head wound.
All Freiburg's hard work was then undone just before the break by slack marking, which Hertha maximised to level as Per Skjelbred found the bottom corner.
Both sides struggled for fluency in the second half, with neither team wanting to risk defeat.
In stoppage time Freiburg went tantalisingly close to a morale-boosting victory, but Fernandes hit the post from close range before slipping in search of the rebound, allowing Hertha to hold on for a hard-fought point.
