Fulham manager Martin Jol is confident that his side will be in good shape for the start of the Premier League season despite their defeat to Werder Bremen.
Nils Petersen scored the only goal of the game to condemn the Cottagers to their first loss of their pre-season campaign.
Jol told the club's official website: "The first priority for us, an English team against a Bundesliga team, was to win, but we didn't manage it.
"Sometimes we can't play the short balls in midfield because it puts you under pressure and to lose a game 1-0 due to a mistake by ourselves is not what we wanted. But we will work on that and hopefully we can do something in the next couple of weeks. Today we looked a bit rusty from the start.
"But I can forgive the players at this stage as we will go to Austria and work hard, train hard and we will do something in the transfer market and be totally different by the start of the season."
Fulham begin the Premier League season away to Sunderland on August 17.
