Genoa and Livorno have played out a goalless draw at the Marassi in their Serie A clash.
The first chance of the match fell to Genoa's Alessandro Gamberini, who found himself in a promising position from Francesco Lodi's free kick but failed to make the most of it.
The visitors were forced into making a substitution in the 25th minute when Marco Biagianti had to be substituted by Alfred Duncan due to an injury.
Andrea Luci and Innocent Emeghara tried their luck for Livorno before the first half drew to a close, but in vain.
Livorno started the second period the better of the two sides but it was not until the 74th minute that they created the first meaning chance of the half.
Luci played a good pass to Luca Siligardi, but Genoa defender Gamberini dispossessed the forward just in time.
Two minutes later Thomas Manfredini headed Adrian Stoian's delivery against the Livorno crossbar.
Genoa pressed for a winner in the final stages of the match, but had to settle for a draw.
