How Germany could line up against Iceland

:Headline: How Germany could line up against Iceland:
Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Germany could line up for their World Cup qualifying clash with Iceland on Thursday evening.

Germany manager Joachim Low already has to work around three absences for Thursday's World Cup qualifying bout with Iceland.

The 61-year-old - who has announced that he will step down from his post after this summer's Euros - has lost Niklas Sule and Robin Gosens to thigh and muscle problems respectively, so Matthias Ginter and Marcel Halstenberg should feature.

Low is once again faced with the Manuel Neuer vs. Marc-Andre ter Stegen dilemma in goal, but the Bayern Munich man is expected to get the nod as he closes in on 100 caps.

Germany do not possess a recognised right-back in the squad, but Lukas Klostermann is more than capable of deputising there and should do so on Thursday.

Antonio Rudiger's inspired improvement at Chelsea means that he is surely in line for a start in defence, and he will likely be partnered by Ginter as Low hopes to avoid shipping another six goals like they did against Spain back in November.

Joshua Kimmich missed out Bayern's win over Stuttgart with illness but he is understood to be feeling better, and Toni Kroos has withdrawn due to injury, so Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and the prolific Ilkay Gundogan should form a midfield trio against Iceland.

The uncapped Jamal Musiala has been handed a call-up after pledging allegiance to Die Mannschaft, but the 17-year-old is unlikely to challenge for a place here, even with no Thomas Muller in the squad.

Bright Bayern duo Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane - the former of whom boasts 14 goals in 17 games for Germany - are expected to start out wide, while Timo Werner's poor form at Chelsea should not see him lose his place up top.

Germany possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Klostermann, Ginter, Rudiger, Halstenberg; Kimmich, Gundogan, Goretzka; Gnabry, Werner, Sane body check tags ::
