Eskisehirspor and Ghana centre-back Jerry Akaminko will miss the World Cup this summer after suffering an ankle injury in last night's 1-0 defeat to Netherlands.
Tests revealed that the 26-year-old, who was forced off during the international friendly, will require surgery to correct the issue, with his recovery time set at three months.
"X-rays have revealed that there is a fracture to the left ankle joint, that is the fracture of the fibula bone. What will have to be done is surgery," Ghana's team doctor Ada Baba told the Ghana FA's website.
"If surgery is done depending on his rehabilitation we will give him at least three months to be able to fully recuperate from the injury and start playing."
Robin van Persie scored the only goal of the match in Rotterdam.
