Jamaica book their place in the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a narrow 1-0 win over Haiti in Baltimore.

Giles Barnes struck the only goal of the game as Jamaica booked a CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-final spot with host nation USA courtesy of a 1-0 win over Haiti this morning.

Earlier in the day, the M&T Bank Stadium played host as the defending champions United States flashed their title credentials with a 6-0 drubbing of Cuba.

The Jamaicans threatened to produce yet another rout on the same pitch by moving ahead with just six minutes on the clock in Baltimore.

The former Derby County midfielder nipped in ahead of Frantz Bertin before striking past Johny Placide for what proved the decisive blow early on in Baltimore.

Nevertheless, Haiti came back strong and missed two good chances in quick succession through Duckens Nazon and Wilde-Donald Guerrier, who both missed the target.

The prospect of yet another comfortable victory in Baltimore looked slim as Haiti continued to dominate for large spells, but failed to find a leveller prior to the break.

Marc Collat's side continued to make all the running, and Kevin Lafrance spurned a good chance to level matters by missing the target from six yards out.

Likewise, Barnes missed arguably the chance of match on 56 minutes when he blazed wide from close range, while Kervens Belfort saw his effort cleared off the line in the final quarter as Haiti continued to toil.

It was Jamaica who finished the half on top, as Simon Dawkins and Garath McCleary both threatened in the closing stages, but missing proved unimportant as the final whistle sounded shortly after.

Their meeting with Jurgen Klinsmann's side takes place on Wednesday night.
