Sports Mole previews Saturday's Turkish Super Lig clash between Hatayspor and Altay, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Altay's stint in the Super Lig will be brought to an end unless they manage to pick up three points against Hatayspor on Saturday afternoon.

There is every chance that a victory may not even be enough for Altay, with the 10-point gap between themselves and safety likely to be too big a deficit to claw back.

Match preview

Five games without a victory has left Altay with a mountain to climb at a time when they can ill-afford any more slip-ups.

A slender defeat at home to Galatasary in last weekend's Super Lig outing all-but confirmed their demotion to the second tier, with another loss this weekend set to rubber stamp relegation.

In need of a flawless end to the season, Altay will have to win their four remaining games of the campaign, while hoping that Giresunspor fail to pick up any further wins.

Given the bleakness of the situation, relegation looks like a certainty for Altay, with it looking set to be confirmed during this weekend's clash against Hatayspor.

For Hatayspor, their status as a top-flight club was confirmed some time ago, with the club once harbouring hopes of claiming a European spot.

Instead, they will have to settle for a mid-table finish in what has been a respectable enough campaign for Hatayspor.

Their job as the Altay undertaker may be easier than expected, as Hatayspor have lost just one of their last nine against the Great Altay.

A repeat of their 2-1 victory over Altay earlier in the campaign would be enough to send them down as the Super Lig season begins to come to an end.

Team News

As if their situation was not already desperate enough, Altay are set to be without two first-team players, with Ozgur Ozkaya out for the rest of the season with an ACL problem.

Also unlikely to be involved this weekend is Deniz Kadah, but in contrast to his teammate Ozkaya, the forward should be back before the end of the season.

In terms of Hatayspor's injury list, it is not as brutal as their opponents, but midfielder Adama Traore is expected to miss out on a start due to a ligament problem.

Goalkeeper Munir Mohand Mohamedi conceded three goals last time out against Istanbul Basaksehir, with the 32-year-old eyeing up a first clean sheet in three matches.

Hatayspor possible starting lineup:
Mohamedi; Bas, Kurucuk, Sackey, Adekugbe; Boudjemaa, Ergun; El Kaabi, Benzia, Lobjanidze; Biram Diouf

Altay possible starting lineup:
Lis; Thiam, Bjorkander, Karayel, Unlu; Ozturk, Poko, Gulselam; Yildirim, Thaciano, Rayan

We say: Hatayspor 2-0 Altay

Relegation beckons for Altay, with this season set to be their last in the top-flight before dropping down a division.

A victory is the only thing that could keep their desperate hopes of survival alive, but expect Hatayspor to snatch a result and relegate Altay.
