Sports Mole previews Friday's Turkish Super Lig clash between Hatayspor and Trabzonspor, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Fresh off the back of clinching the Super Lig title, Trabzonspor will travel to the New Hatay Stadium to face Hatayspor on Friday.

The hosts are winless in their last six matches, while the champions are unbeaten in their previous five league games.

Match preview

After experiencing a poor run of form, Hatayspor's European push has tailed off, and as a result, they enter Friday's contest in 10th position.

In fact, following a 3-0 victory over Fatih Karagumruk on March 12, they sat just one point adrift of the top four, but since that win, they have picked up just three points from six matches.

On Friday, Hatayspor will be looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat after losing to Istanbul Basaksehir and Altay.

A 10th-minute strike from Leandro Kappel proved enough to give Altay a 1-0 win over Omer Erdogan's side last weekend, with the defeat ending Hatayspor's unbeaten five-game home run.

Hatayspor have relied heavily on their home matches this term with 31 of their 48 points this term coming from home encounters.

Trabzonspor, meanwhile, sealed their first Super Lig title since 1984 last weekend after drawing 2-2 with Antalyaspor.

Andrea Cornelius gave the champions an early lead in the third minute before Alassane Ndao restored parity just six minutes after the restart, but Dorukhan Tokoz needed just 11 minutes to restore his side's lead.

Abdullah Avci's side were unable to hold on, with Haji Wright equalising late on, but it could not prevent Trabzonspor from clinching their seventh Super Lig title.

With top spot secured, Trabzonspor will enter the final three fixtures in a celebratory mood, although Avci will be challenging his side to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions.

Although with the second leg of their Turkish Cup semi-final set to take place on Tuesday, Trabzonspor may have one eye firmly on the cup meeting with Kayserispor.

Team News

Kamil Corekci and Adama Traore are both expected to miss out on Friday, with injury issues set to keep them sidelined.

After being forced off in the first half against Altay, Mehdi Boudjemaa is a doubt for the contest.

Saba Lobjanidze could return to the starting lineup after featuring for the second 45 minutes in the Altay encounter.

As for the visitors, they are set to be without the services of Bruno Peres, Huseyin Turkmen and Anders Trondsen due to injury problems.

Ahead of the second leg of their Turkish Cup semi-final, Avci could be tempted to make a number of changes with Anastasios Bakasetas, Berat Ozdemir, Jean Evrard Kouassi all candidates to start on Friday.

Despite scoring in his last three matches, Andreas Cornelius may be rested on Friday, with the league title already wrapped up.

Hatayspor possible starting lineup:
Munir; Bas, Sackey, Oksuz, Adekugbe; Ribeiro, Ergun; El Kaabi, Benzia, Lobjanidze; Diouf

Trabzonspor possible starting lineup:
Cakir; Tokoz, Kaplan, Hugo, Puchacz; Visca, Omur, Bakasetas, Ozdemir, Kouassi; Djaniny

We say: Hatayspor 1-2 Trabzonspor

Although they have already clinched the title, we think that Trabzonspor will have too much quality on Friday for a Hatayspor side that are winless in their last six games.
